Every Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. (Sep thru May), the "Shipmates" club meets at the Anchor Baptist Church. During meetings the children earn badges by memorizing God's word, perfecting Bible oriented skills, and doing other things (helping at home, being a pastor's friend, learning good manners, etc.). Children from all over the Salt Lake Valley take part in this activity.

The "club" is divided up into groups based upon age. These groups are given names such as "Little Skippers", "Waves", or "Ensigns." Periodically, on weekends, different groups (or the whole club) go on outings to hike, ice skate, or just have fun. Many boys and girls have come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour by attending Shipmates.

On a typical Wednesday evening the various clubs will have Book time (earning badges), Bible time (learning God's word), and Game time in the gym. At the beginning and end of each meeting the groups assemble together to sing, hear announcements, and receive awards. Shipmates has been an active part of Anchor Baptist Church's outreach and discipleship ministries for many years, and we praise the Lord for blessing it as only He could.
